Casa Merlin Costa Rica is located near the tropical forest in dense tropical vegetation and just across the road from the beautiful white sand beach Playa Chiquita (Small Beach). Playa Chiquita is the only beach in the area that does not have the public access by car and therefore is often quiet and quite private. To reach the beach from us = 250 meters walking. As we are in the beginning of Playa Chiquita (only about a km long) it is also very short distance from our hotel to another marvelous beach Playa Cocles. The Playa Cocles beach has the „Beachbreak wave“ for surfers on the north end cool watered Rio Cocles on the south (perfect swimming spot for smaller children). Playa Cocles beach is the winner of the „Blue Flag“ for pristine beach and is also the only lifeguard protected beach on the Caribbean coast. Casa Merlin can be the perfect spot for your holiday being located halfway of Cahuita National Park and Manzanillo-Gandoca National Park as well as with easy access to Tortugero and Bocas del Toro in Panama. Hotel Merlin Costa Rica is located only a few kilometers from the well known little town Puerto Viejo with its shops – fun – adventure. You can easily reach it by the bike that you can rent for reasonable money in our resort . A bike is a great way to explore the whole area here.  Merlin Hotel Surroundings You will love the South Caribbean on the first sight just as we do Walking the beach provides hours of adventure and enjoyment. You can enjoy surfing at the „Beach Break“ surf beach at the beginning of Playa Cocles close to Puerto Viejo. You can „hide“ on „our“ Playa Chiquita or you can go the just another gorgeous beach Punta Uva where you can take a hike to the lookout point above the coral door and see the last Pirate grave. From there if you continue to the end of the road in Manzanillo you can eat on the beach at Maxi’s that is really famous. Make a tour to the Cahuita National Park - only a mere 20 min. north. Here you enjoy hiking and snorkeling. Lots and lots of delicious meals from all over the world. The whole area here offers restaurants of just any cuisine and we will gladly help you to find the right one for you. In our large tropical garden and everywhere around you can encounter hummingbirds, butterflies, sloths, monkeys, toucans, iguanas and much much more.
